Tuesday morning’s commute could be messy for the southern half of the Lower Peninsula as a wintry mix descends overnight and into the early morning hours on Tuesday.

Here’s how messy: The National Weather Service is calling for a mix of rain, snow - and even some ice pellets. The forecast also has cautions about glaze ice on the roadways.

So leave yourself some extra time for your morning commute on Tuesday. And remember to drive like it’s winter in Michigan.

Northern Michigan and parts of the Upper Peninsula could see some light snow or flurries tomorrow. But the messy forecast is for those in the southern half of the Lower Peninsula, roughly from the Silver Lake dunes area over to Flint and down into Southeast Michigan, and all points south.
