Artificial intelligence might be the way of the future, but what does that mean for London classrooms?

As schools across Ontario and beyond weigh how to use AI effectively in schools, educators in London are already experimenting with ways to make the technology a teaching tool rather than a shortcut.

For teachers like Reece Cantelon at Westminster secondary school, there’s no point in trying to hide what’s already widely accessible.

“I think the instinct is to hide the use of it, because right now in education a lot of the concern is around, ‘how much of your work are you doing just using AI, and not knowing yourself?’ And what I try to teach the kids is that AI should really be an extension of their learning and a tool to enhance it,” Cantelon said.
