Calkins is a columnist for the Seattle Times – and he may be swayed just a bit. But Lenny Wilkens, who died on Nov. 9 at the age of 88 is ours.

Certainly, he spent 12 years playing and/or coaching in Seattle, as Calkins plainly states – and he became the first person to have a statue unveiled outside Climate Pledge Arena, in Seattle. That was a year ago, July.
But it was Boys High School right here in Brooklyn, where Lenny Wilkens honed his skills. In fact, he admitted basketball was not high on his list of sports activities in school.
