ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol is increasing its efforts to crack down on speeding within Interstate 70 construction zones in Warren County.
Last month, during an eight-hour saturated patrol, six troopers made a total of 61 traffic stops and issued 45 tickets.
“We’re not getting the compliance that we need to get to make it safer, and it’s not just truckers, it’s not just passenger cars, it’s everybody,” said Sgt. Andrew Gadberry of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
One of the challenges of enforcement within the construction zone between Warrenton and Wright City is the lack of space to make a safe traffic stop.
