PORTLAND, Ore. — I-5 will be closed south of downtown Portland for several hours starting late Monday night to install RealTime Variable Advisory Speed signs , according to the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).

The closure, between I-405 and Southwest Terwilliger Boulevard, starts at 11 p.m. Monday and ends at 5 a.m. Tuesday. Several on-ramps will also be closed, including Terwilliger Boulevard, Multnomah Boulevard, Spring Garden Street, Huber Street, the ramp from I-405 south to I-5 south, Harbor Drive, and Hood Avenue.

ODOT said drivers can detour using Southwest Barbur Boulevard. Drivers avoiding the area are encouraged to use I-205 to I-84 or U.S. 26 to OR 217.
