BOYLE HEIGHTS – A man was killed after being shot in a drive-by shooting while tagging a wall in Boyle Heights early Monday morning.

Los Angeles Police Department officers with the Hollenbeck Division responded to reports of a shooting in the 2700 block of Marengo Street around 1:30 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found a male victim lying on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has been identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as 19-year-old Oscar Medina.

According to a witness, the Medina had been tagging a wall when a vehicle pulled up beside him. Someone inside the vehicle opened fire, striking the man before speeding away.
