NEWPORT, Ore. (KPTV) - Employees were shocked by the sudden closure of Rogue Ales & Spirits last week.

FOX 12 first learned of the abrupt closure of the company on Friday.

A Port of Newport executive director spoke with FOX 12 and confirmed that the Rogue Ales president informed the Port on Friday that the company is shutting down operations.

The executive director said they have been working with Rogue on debt for a while. The company reportedly owes over $500,000 in back rent and taxes, including interest.

The executive director said there were still a few people working at the Newport location to close it down but otherwise it’s officially shut down.
