QUEEN CREEK, AZ (AZFamily) — A man who killed a 4‑year‑old girl and injured her 6‑year‑old brother in Queen Creek while he drove under the influence has been sentenced to 20 years in prison, prosecutors said Monday.
According to the Pinal County Attorney’s Office , Jason Sanchez, 34, was sentenced on second-degree murder and aggravated assault for the crash that happened on June 5, 2024, near Hunt Highway and Power Road .
Family members told Arizona’s Family that the children’s father was driving his kids, 4-year-old Lily and her 6-year-old brother, Luke, back home from swim lessons. Both were in the back seat in car seats when they were hit.
Lily died in the hospital in her parents’ arms the next day.
Prosecutors said Sanchez was driving 65 mph in a 40 mph zone when they rear-end
