LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

A man is facing charges in connection to a shooting in the Auburndale neighborhood that sent a 19-year-old to the hospital.

Louisville Metro Police Department arrested 38-year-old Robert Womble III on Tuesday. He is charged with first-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Womble is charged in connection to a shooting that happened in the 1100 block of Royal Gardens Court on Nov. 5.

Police responded to the area around 12:20 a.m. about a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old who had been shot in the back. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Police say the victim is still in the hospital but is expected to survive.
