Amid a decrease in priests and parishioners, the Archdiocese of Detroit is “feeling the strain” of maintaining more buildings, sites and ministries than it can sustain, said Archbishop Edward Weisenburger on Monday.
Each parish in the archdiocese will host two listening sessions in the spring after Weisenburger announced to Detroit’s Catholic community over the weekend that the organization would enter a two-year restructuring process. The archdiocese has also created a website that will provide information and updates on the restructuring process.
