A new two-year $450,000 pilot project to bring more healthcare professionals including family physicians to Brantford will be reviewed by city councillors on Tuesday.
The Primary Care Access Pilot Program will be discussed at the Nov. 18 committee-of-the-whole meeting.

Under the proposal, funding for the program would come from the city’s community groups reserve. It would be used to pay for a project coordinator, job board postings and recruitment events as well as relocation costs, says a report prepared by Aaron Wallace, the city’s director of strategic initiatives.
The funding includes $40,000 over two years for a recruitment campaign led by the city and supported by the health team and the Chamber of Commerce Brantford Brant.
