OMAHA, Neb. —

Some Omaha Public School board members addressed a proposal on school lunches Monday night. Board member Bri Full shared her proposal to social media Friday , after she said it did not gain traction with the board.

The proposal would eliminate school lunch debt through December. It would require roughly $200,000 in contingency fund. OPS previously offered free lunches at all schools in the district, funded through the federal Community Eligibility Provision. This year, 21 OPS schools were no longer eligible.

"I have kind of gone to the effort of making this publicly aware and getting support and trying to get the other board members to understand where I'm coming from and where the gaps exist," said Full at the board's regular meeting Monday.
