PITTSBURGH —

After years of construction and two test runs with thousands of volunteers, the new terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport finally opened to the public Tuesday morning.

"I think it's nice, very exquisite. It's a beautiful thing," said Chantell Johnson, who was among the first travelers to experience the new terminal. Advertisement

"I made a road trip to Columbus, came back and get to see the whole new gig," said Randy Wellman, of Portland, Oregon. "It's beautiful. How do you go wrong with something like this? First day, man."

Ahead of the opening day, airport spokesman Bob Kerlik talked about the upgrades that travelers would see at the new terminal.
