Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), India’s newest greenfield airport, will begin commercial operations on 25 December 2025, marking a major expansion of aviation capacity in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The airport will launch with 23 scheduled daily departures during its initial month-long phase, operating between 8am and 8pm. In a regulatory filing, Adani Enterprises Ltd, the parent company of Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL), which holds 74% stake in NMIA, says, "The first aircraft to touch down at the new facility will be IndiGo flight 6E460 from Bengaluru, scheduled to arrive at 8am on Christmas Day.
