Lil Nas X's lawyer has insisted the star is "doing amazing" after spending time in a treatment centre following his arrest for alleged battery in August.
The Old Town Road hitmaker, real name Montero Hill, appeared in a California court on Monday, charged with three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer. He has already pleaded not guilty to the charges.
According to Rolling Stone, the 26-year-old walked into the courtroom smiling but did not make any statements at the brief hearing, where the judge signed a protective order covering the transfer of discovery in the case and set the next hearing for 12 March.
As he left the courthouse, his defence lawyer told reporters, "As you can see, Montero is doing amazing, doing great, and we're super happy for him... We're just looking forward to a positive resolution in this case, which we're very confident of."
The Industry Baby singer was arrested in the early hours of 21 August after he was spotted "strolling naked" along Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles. Prosecutors allege that he assaulted the police officers trying to take him into custody and injured three of them.
Hill was initially transported to a nearby hospital for a possible overdose before being transferred to jail.
After spending the weekend behind bars, the singer told his fans on social media, "That was f**king terrifying. That was terrifying. That was a terrifying last four days. But your girl is gonna be all right."
At a hearing in September, his lawyers revealed that he was "in treatment" at a facility outside of California, but the judge sealed details of his care.
"We're doing what is best for Montero from a personal standpoint and a professional standpoint, but most importantly, for his well-being," Findling said at the time. "We're just addressing those issues. It's really as simple as that. He's had a great life, and he'll continue to have a great life. This is a bump that he's going to get over."
