CANTON, Ohio — Canton police say more than 70 shots were fired at a banquet hall on Monday night.

According to a police report obtained by 3News, Officers were dispatched to 1717 6th St SW, the Nazir Grotto, at around 7:25 p.m. on Nov. 17 after receiving multiple 911 calls about a "possible shootout."

When officers arrived, they found a “large crowd” outside and “an even bigger crowd inside” the building. Police estimated more than 75 people were inside the hall at the time.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers first checked for victims and confirmed no one had been shot.

They then worked to secure a crime scene that stretched across multiple properties, including the banquet hall, its parking lot and the nearby ABC Car Wash lot.
