Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure’s Emergency Management Organization is advising residents that a test of the National Public Alerting System, Alert Ready, will take place tomorrow at 1:55 p.m.
The province says routine testing is necessary to ensure the system functions properly during real emergencies. Officials note the tests help verify system performance across communication channels and show the public what an actual alert looks and sounds like.

The test message will be issued on television, radio and compatible wireless devices. Not all mobile users will receive the alert, which the province says can occur for reasons such as device compatibility, LTE connectivity, cell-tower coverage, or software and notification settings.
