GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - Toyota is investing $204.4 million in its Georgetown plant to add 82 jobs and install a new machining line for 4-cylinder hybrid engines.
Toyota recently announced plans to invest up to $10 billion in the U.S. over the next five years.
The Georgetown investment is part of Toyota’s $912 million commitment across five U.S. manufacturing plants to meet growing demand for hybrid vehicles. The company is adding 252 new jobs total and bringing hybrid-electric Toyota Corollas to its production lineup.
Toyota Kentucky is the company’s largest plant globally and employs nearly 10,000 people. The facility can produce up to 700,000 powertrain units per year and represents more than $11 billion in total investment.
The new production line will go online in 2027.
