HOLYOKE — Two people have been arrested in connection with a fire at a dwelling in Holyoke this month that displaced six residents, injured a firefighter and disturbed the city’s water supply.
The state Department of Fire Services said an investigation determined the blaze was intentionally set.
Police charged Anthony Ortiz Correia, 40, and Naysha Merced Gonzalez, 42, with attempted murder, burning a dwelling and injuring a firefighter in the line of duty, according to a statement by the department.
The charges, the department said, are in connection with the Nov. 4 fire at 268 Pine St. where the blaze, aided by high winds, climbed up through the stairs of the three-story building into the attic, rendering the building uninhabitable.
