Welp, that’s a wrap. Five nights of killing frost took us right out of the harvesting and going to market business. Once our green beans were killed, we were done. Fran and I took anything we had previously gathered in the barn to the local food bank and donated it. We have always relied on food harvest people to come get our donations at the farm market, and I didn’t know if the local food banks took anything but dry goods, but they do, so we did.
It’s always kind of a relief when the season ends. We no longer have to plan our days around harvesting, and prepping for market, going to market, and recouping from market.
