CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A driver was arrested Monday after allegedly ramming a law enforcement vehicle and attempting to box in Border Patrol agents during an immigration operation in Charlotte, federal officials said.
According to the Department of Homeland Security , agents were in a parking lot when a car jumped a curb and sped toward them. Agents warned the driver to stop and back up, officials said.
The driver then moved toward the parking lot exit and waited in an apparent attempt to block agents, DHS said. When agents approached, the car rammed a law enforcement vehicle and fled the scene.
Border Patrol agents pursued the vehicle and eventually stopped it in a cul-de-sac, where the driver was taken into custody, officials said.
Federal authorities did not immediately release the drive
