LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Police and neighbors in southwest Louisville say ATVs have been plaguing the backyards and city parks in the area.

Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) has seen an increased presence of ATVs and vehicles that are not street legal causing issues in Louisville, especially in the southwest area.

Metro Councilwoman Crystal Bast drafted a new ordinance to tackle the problem.

The legislation would make it easier for LMPD to enforce laws, allowing them to use drones and conduct blitz operations to keep those vehicles off of main roads.

Councilmember Jonathan Joseph is backing the proposed ordinance and said it's a matter of common sense and safety.
