A recent data analysis by Metropolis Healthcare reveals that nearly 1 in 3 Indians (approximately 33%) display early signs of metabolic syndrome, a precursor to Type 2 diabetes. Based on a state-wide lipid profile analysis of over 3.9 lakh people, the findings highlight the importance of early metabolic screening in addition to standard blood sugar checks, according to the diagnostics chain.

According to the company, cholesterol and triglyceride imbalances can appear years before blood glucose levels become high, making lipid screening an important early detection tool for diabetes.

The new data also revealed a rise in metabolic stress in younger age groups, with people in their 30s and 40s increasingly having low HDL or high triglycerides without any visible symptoms.
