With wintry weather passing through the area, chain controls are up in a few locations.

Chains are required on part of Mt. Rose Highway from around Sky Tavern over the summit to Chickadee Ridge.

Part of State Route 267 requires chains from around Northstar Golf Course to Kings Beach.

Part of State Route 28 to the Carson City line requires chains, as does part of Kingsbury Grade Road.
