Florida could be getting an expensive and heated Republican primary for the Chief Financial Officer position after all.
When state Sen. Joe Gruters, R-Sarasota, having left the race to be Republican National Committee chairman with President Donald Trump’s backing, incumbent CFO Blaise Ingoglia had a clear pathway to keep his seat.
But now state Rep. Kevin Steele, R-Dade City, is entering the race – with a immediate high-profile backer.
