When Tim Schultz took a photo of his less-than-one-month-old son Colin nestled in the cup of the Southern Ontario Junior Hockey League trophy he helped win as an assistant coach with the 2006-07 Mitchell Hawks, he had no idea things would turn out like this.
Schultz took over as the head coach of the 2025-26 version of the Hawks on Nov. 16, a few hours after head coach Daryl O’Connell resigned. This year, Colin is a rookie forward with the Hawks, and Tim will now be behind the bench trying to help turn the fortunes of the struggling club around.
