The sponsor of a New Castle County ordinance that would govern the planning and development of data centers intends to table the ordinance at the Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday night (Nov. 18th).
Councilman David Carter of the 6th District told WDEL News that the pause would allow the County Land Use Department to review what he termed "11th-hour amendments" to the ordinance, and for the public to review the information and provide input.
The ordinance drew lengthy public comment during a committee meeting November 4th.
A couple of the amendments have been criticized as intending to effectively gut the controls contained in the ordinance.
