Gabriel Magalhaes is facing up to two months out injured, talkSPORT understands.
The Arsenal defender limped off during Brazil's win over Senegal at the Emirates Stadium last weekend.
He was since left out of the travelling squad for their clash with Tunisia in Lille on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, the national team later confirmed Gabriel had suffered a muscle injury to his right thigh.
Initial tests now suggest that the 27-year-old faces one to two months on the sidelines.
However, the full prognosis has not yet been given as tests on the injury continue.
If the absence is confirmed, it will come as a crucial blow to Mikel Arteta's side and their ongoing Premier League title charge.
Meanwhile, Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber sustained injuries on international duty, althoug
