Man Hit By Car Trying To Cross 8 Lanes Of Traffic: Linden PD

A 67-year-old Linden man is in critical condiiton after he was struck by a car while crossing eight lanes of traffic on Monday, Nov. 17, authorities said.

At 5:35 p.m., officers responded to West Edgar Road (Routes 1 and 9) at Smith Street after the man was struck by a black 2019 Honda Accord while attempting to cross eight lanes of traffic on Route 1 and Route 9, Linden police said.

The man was transported to Newark University Hospital, where he remains in critical condition, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
