A man was shot and arrested Tuesday in Detroit after he allegedly tried to hit sheriff's deputies with a pickup truck, officials said.

No injuries were reported, investigators said.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office said the incident happened Tuesday morning while the agency's narcotics unit was investigating the area of Woodward Avenue and McNichols Road. Deputies were working undercover, according to authorities.

After deputies approached a suspect in a red pickup truck, they announced themselves as police, officials said. The suspect drove the vehicle at the deputies.

A deputy fired two shots at the suspect, but they did not strike him, according to officials.

Investigators said the suspect tried to drive off, but the truck became stuck on a tree stump.
