CANTON, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - New developments surrounding Karen Read, the woman found not guilty of murder in the death of her boyfriend.

According to officials, Read filed a lawsuit accusing members of Massachusetts State Police, as well as others, of conspiring to frame her.

Read was accused of hitting her ex-boyfriend, John O’Keefe, with her car back in 2022 outside of a house party and leaving him to die.

The lawsuit also accused investigators of failing to interview other potential suspects, and investigate the house for blood, DNA, or other evidence.

Read’s lawyers are now demanding a jury trial.
