Adams MultiMedia , a Minneapolis-based newspaper and media company, has purchased the Cedar Rapids Gazette and 11 other Iowa newspapers.

The Gazette announced the sale on Tuesday, Nov. 18, in an article published online. The sale is expected to be completed by Monday, Dec. 1. "Most" Gazette employees will join Adams MultiMedia at that time. The price Adams Multimedia paid for the Gazette was not disclosed, nor were details on future operational plans for the newspaper.

Before the transaction, the Gazette, which has been in circulation since 1883, was entirely employee-owned through its holding company, Folience.
