PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A driver is in the hospital after a crash involving a school bus in central Phoenix on Tuesday.

The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of 16th Street and Glendale Avenue .

Phoenix Fire told Arizona’s Family that 68 students were on the bus at the time of the crash. Of those students, six complained of minor injuries, but none of them were taken to the hospital.

Fire crews say the driver of the SUV involved in the crash was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

While the bus is from Saints Simon & Jude Cathedral School , a spokesperson for the Diocese of Phoenix says the students attend a different Catholic elementary school and were using the bus for a field trip. All parents of involved students have been notified.
