KINGSLAND, Ga. (WCSC) — A man wanted in the death of his ex-girlfriend in North Charleston has been arrested by authorities in Georgia, the North Charleston Police Department says.

Luis Oscar Ocanto, 38, is accused of killing the woman at her apartment on Monday and then stealing her car, according to North Charleston Police spokesman Harve Jacobs.

An officer with the Kingsland, Georgia, Police Department stopped the car Ocanto was driving there for speeding and ran the license tag. The vehicle came up as being reported stolen from North Charleston, police said.

When the officer ran Ocanto’s name, results came back that North Charleston investigators wanted him on a murder charge.
