DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — Deputies arrested a convicted felon accused of accidentally wounding himself while breaking into a Dorchester County home late Monday night.

Lavorieo Jarrod Gathers, 39, is charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Deputies responded shortly after 11 p.m. Monday to a home on Windsor Hill Boulevard because of a report of an active domestic violence case. While on patrol, deputies received a 911 call from a home in the 8100 block of Windsor Hill Boulevard, where they heard a gunshot as they arrived.
