BELL COUNTY, Ky. — A Harlan County man is facing a fetal homicide charge after attacking a pregnant woman, according to the Bell County Sheriff's Office.
This charge comes in addition to the child sex abuse charges Christopher Shipman, 44, was first indicted for in August.
Shipman faced two counts of first-degree sodomy of a victim under 12, two counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a victim under 12 and one count of first-degree strangulation, according to BCSO.
BCSO said Tuesday that Shipman has additionally been charged with fetal homicide after he "intentionally caused the death of an unborn child" of a woman who was 14 weeks pregnant.
