SHELBYVILLE, Ind. — More than 200 dealers and pit supervisors at Horseshoe Indianapolis are showing all their cards and refusing to let the house win.
For 33 days, they've picketed in front of the Shelbyville casino , calling for union recognition.
Tera Arnold, who is a dual-rate worker at Horseshoe, says the strike is a 24/7 operation.
"I never worked any overtime or a Saturday when I was inside," said Arnold, "and now I'm like, 'I don't want to be away.'"
Arnold has worked at the casino for more than six years. She said this strike isn't just about getting more money for dealers.
"Hopefully we do!" said Arnold. "Six dollars an hour? It's not paying any of my bills."
Arnold said the ongoing strike is, instead, about getting support and backup for dealers across the industry. They're
