A Nowra cleaner has avoided jail after almost seven times the trafficable quantity of methylamphetamine was found in her car at a Mid North Coast correctional facility.

Rachel Kim Coleman, 45, of Plunkett Street, Nowra, appeared before Nowra Local Court for sentencing on Tuesday, November 18.

Coleman pleaded guilty to two counts of driving under the influence of drugs and one of supplying a prohibited drug.

Magistrate Lisa Viney sentenced Coleman to an 18-month intensive corrections order, ordered her to undergo rehabilitation, and fined her $1200.

According to court documents, officers at the Mid North Coast Correctional Centre searched Coleman's car on June 22 after buprenorphine strips were found on a person she was accompanying while visiting the facility.

The search uncovered 21.
