Nearly 59,000 people have received care at the $90 million Norton West Louisville Hospital since it opened one year ago.
When the hospital officially opened Nov. 11, 2024, it marked the first hospital to open west of Ninth Street in over 150 years. It aimed to improve health care access and outcomes for west Louisville residents, who have a life expectancy that's 15 years less than residents in some parts of Louisville.
The hospital recorded 58,500 patients served in its first year, ranging from primary care and emergency visits to preventive screenings to surgery and inpatient care.
