Two Conway women were arrested Friday after police said they forced their 11-year-old son to perform "wall/air squats" as punishment and beat the child with a belt when he was unable to perform the exercise, a Tuesday news release from Conway police says.
Kayla Nicole Fricks, 37, and her wife, Veneta Meshelle Fricks, 35, both of Conway, were arrested on charges of second-degree domestic battery and permitting child abuse, both felonies, according to court records. They were released from the Faulkner County jail on Tuesday, according to the jail's website. Court records show both their bonds were set at $20,000.
According to an affidavit for their arrests, the boy had told a counselor at school that he was being "whooped" at home by his parents.
