LEDYARD, Conn. —

Emergency crews from several towns responded to a fire at Foxwoods Casino on Tuesday night.

According to the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Fire Department, a fire broke out inside the David Burke Prime Steakhouse in the Grand Pequot Tower.

It's unclear if anyone was injured.

Witnesses who were inside the tower at the time told NewsCenter 5 they've been evacuated to another part of the complex.

"We are working closely with emergency response teams, and the health and safety of our guests and team members remains our top priority," a department spokesperson said. "Impacted areas are currently safe and secure from guests."

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

No further information was immediately available.
