GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed that agents were in the 2500 block of Van Hill Road in Greeneville on Nov. 13 to follow up on an "investigative lead" in the case of Summer Wells.
On June 15, 2021, the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office said authorities were looking for a young girl named Summer Wells who disappeared from her home on Ben Hill Road. It said she was around 4 feet tall with blonde hair and was wearing a pink shirt with gray shorts at the time.
Wells was around 5 years old when she disappeared, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued an AMBER Alert and spent months scouring the Beech Creek community and beyond for any sign of her.
