ALBANY, N.Y. (WCAX) - New York republicans are standing together to condemn what they call gov. Kathy Hochul’s “burdensome” gas stove ban and “all-electric mandate.”
On Tuesday, representatives Elise Stefanik and Nick Langworthy joined with members of the New York state congressional delegation and the assembly republican conference.
They’re pushing for a new federal bill, the ‘Energy Choice Act’ — this measure would prohibit states or local governments from banning or limiting the use of a specific energy service.
This is in response to Hochul’s proposed ban on fossil fuel heating equipment.
New York republicans believe this would deepen the state’s affordability and energy crisis and jeopardize residents’ safety.
