LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A solution to an overcrowding problem at Echo Trail Middle School is causing a change that not all parents are happy with.
Starting next school year, almost 100 students originally slated to go to Echo Trail Middle School will be going to Crosby Middle School instead.
Several parents whose kids are impacted say they felt blindsided by the whole thing and wish it had been done with more transparency.
“Just kind of back-sided and underhanded,” said one parent, Brian Recktenwald.
Rectkenwald’s son is one of the kids originally slated for Echo Trail next year, but now will be going to Crosby. Recktenwald said he’d already attended the showcase for Echo Trail, and finding out about a last minute boundary change with little public input was frustrating.
