TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Tucson City Council voted to add more funding for an RTA Project along Grant Road on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
The proposal will add $40 million to complete the next phases of the construction happening along the roadway.
Tucson leadership and RTA mentioned that the funding is “necessary” for “Right of Way acquisition costs,” which will be for Grant Road from Oracle to Swan.
It will be for Phases 5 and 6 of the project, where construction will take place between Park to Sparkman Boulevard.
Originally, $5 million was allocated to the original intergovernmental agreement for what was described as “design activities.”
However, the additional $40 million used for right-of-way acquisition costs will include purchasing property and areas needed for the construction.
