PORTLAND, Ore. — The city of Portland has named the three finalists vying for the city administrator role . The current city administrator, Mike Jordan, plans to retire at the end of the year.
Said role involves running the day-to-day operations of Portland, managing the $8.6 billion budget and implementing policies adopted by the city council. Jordan's replacement is expected to start work in January.
Jordan was appointed by former Mayor Ted Wheeler as interim city administrator last year, then agreed to stay on for current Mayor Keith Wilson's first year in order to usher in Portland's new government structure amid an intense budget shortfall and federal threats to city funding.
