ABC Sport and Australian cricketing legend Glenn McGrath have parted ways due to the former fast bowler's relationship with a betting company.

McGrath, who had been promoted as one of the key special commenters for the ABC's Ashes coverage this summer, parted ways with the national broadcaster due to a commercial arrangement with gambling site bet365.

The company has previously been a supporter of the McGrath Foundation as a corporate partner, but the decision was made due to a separate deal, with McGrath set to feature in a campaign with Ricky Ponting this summer.

The move follows a similar situation in 2022, when former Australian quick Mitchell Johnson was removed from the ABC's coverage due to a deal with Bet Nation.
