Popular American female rapper Nicki Minaj on Tuesday night addressed the United Nations headquarters in New York, raising concerns over the ongoing persecution and killing of Christians in Nigeria.
In her remarks, Minaj applauded U.S. President Donald Trump for showing interest in addressing the crisis.
She said Christians in Nigeria continue to face severe atrocities, including killings, torture, the burning of homes and churches, driven by extremist groups and individuals who are hostile towards them.
Minaj urged the Nigerian government to act swiftly to protect its Christian population and curb the violence.
Recently, President Trump announced that he is considering deploying U.S. military personnel to Nigeria to help combat the extremist groups responsible for the attacks.
