Panic has spread across a village in Gorakhpur after the death of a rabies-infected cow, whose raw milk had been reportedly used to prepare ‘panchamrit’ during a recent religious ceremony. Around 200 villagers had consumed the mixture, prompting health authorities to advise all of them to receive anti-rabies vaccinations immediately.

The incident took place in Ramdih village under Uruwa block, where fear and confusion have gripped the community. Two days ago, the cow infected with rabies died, intensifying concerns among villagers who had unknowingly consumed the ‘panchamrit’ in which the raw milk of the infected cow was used.
