Harry Potter actress Shirley Henderson has confessed how she managed to bag the role of a 14-year-old ghost in Harry Potter, despite being 37-years-old at the time. The Fife born actor, 59, is perhaps best known for her role of Moaning Myrtle, in the Harry Potter films, which she first began in 2002.
Myrtle is a Hogwarts student ghost who was killed in the school and has continued to haunt the girls' lavatory long after her death. While the character may have been just 14-years-old, Shirley was actually in her late thirties when she auditioned for the role in Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets, which was the second film in the series.
She revealed that her technique was to simply look the part of a young girl and not bring up her real age. In
